Frequently Asked Questions

How much space do we need?

For most dance styles we can simply move a coffee table or rug aside for our lessons. Outside patios also work great! If more space is needed, local dance studios are available for hourly rentals.

How many lessons do we need?

Once we’ve met and I can assess your current dance ability, I can suggest a package based on your goals. Finding time to practice between lessons helps you improve faster.

Do we need to provide the music?

Not necessary unless there is music you are really excited to dance to. I will come with songs and share practice playlists that work for the dance style(s) you wish to learn. I have a portable speaker if you don’t want to use your own sound system. If you are learning a dance for your wedding or special event then you can share your song selection with me before we begin our lessons.

What should we wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing you can easily move around in (like leggings, stretchy jeans, or a t-shirt). For shoes, flat shoes with a smooth sole work best. If we are dancing on carpet or your floors are a bit sticky, a thick pair of socks is actually perfect! Please avoid heavy boots, flip-flops, or high heels so we can keep your ankles (and your floors!) safe.

What if I have 2 left feet?

Don’t worry, I specialize in 2 left feet! Private lessons are perfect for people who need a slower paced learning environment. We will take it one step at a time.

What is the cancellation policy?

Please cancel at least 24 hours in advance of our session. This will give me additional time to book others who may be waiting. Thank you!
